Mr Johnson’s Supreme Guinea Pig Mix is a fibrous, nutritious and wholesome blend of steam flaked peas, cereals, grass, alfalfa, pellets and extrusions - supplying your guinea pig with a tasty, healthy food in a variety of textures to encourage the natural foraging instinct. Feeding the correct diet to your guinea Pig is essential for maintaining good health. Fibrous feed is required to aid normal digestive function and aid essential dental wear. Guinea pigs also require a daily source of vitamin C, which is provided by Supreme guinea pig food.

Mr Johnson’s Supreme Guinea Pig Mix is a complementary feed for guinea pigs and should be fed together with unlimited access to good quality hay which is a good source of fibre and an essential part of your guinea pigs diet.  A small quantity of fresh greens should also be fed daily and fresh clean water should always be available.
Overcoming selective feeding:

Guinea pig's, if overfed, can sometimes selectively feed and may leave their less favourite ingredients in the bowl until last, resulting in an unbalanced diet and nutritional deficiency.
To help overcome selective feeding your guinea pig should be fed twice a day, dividing their daily requirements into two meals, feeding morning and evening but only refilling the bowl once empty.
Changing your guinea pig's diet:

Your guinea pigs diet should never be altered suddenly as abrupt changes could trigger digestive upsets, especially in baby or stressed guinea's (for example if they have moved to a new home). If you want to alter your pet's diet, it is recommended that this change takes place gradually over a 7-10 day period. This can be done by mixing small quantities of the new food with their existing food and increasing the proportions until it is fully changed over.
